Becoming Like Dad

2011
The project started as an autobiography of the photographer himself. But instead of pointing the camera solely at himself,
Chong Yew decided to photograph his dad as well.

The many qualities of father and son are reflected through the similar objects that they both use. Through the photographs,
time, culture, experiences and memories emerge. By juxtaposing the similarities and differences between his dad and himself,
Chong Yew hopes to examine their relationship as an extension of his own identity.
